I made these drawings as a student in Florence, Italy. I left the States because I wanted to really learn how to draw, especially the figue. This was frowned upon here at the time as artists had 2 choices: abstract expressionisn and/or color field paintings.
I attended sketch sessions a friend put together at his studio. We met one or two evenings a week. Mostly English speaking artists attended. The studio was locted on "Via Degli Artisti" and had a wall of north light!
